Q: Does home insurance cover garaged/stored collector cars?
I know that they do not for regular cars and maybe not for these either but it couldnt hurt to find out. I basically need a way for an undriven collector car to be insured while garaged without paypal a crazy high amount to normal insurance companies for something thats not in use.

A: homeinsurance.awardspace.us – try this one. Got my home insurance from them. As I know they provide such a service.

Q: Is there a national database for collector cars?
I have a 1942 Ford and was wondering if there was a national database where I can research how many of them are still in existance today.

A: try google…or other search engines…

Q: id like to more about collector cars?
whenver we go on a cruise, my dad spots out collector cars and knows what year and what car, make and so on about that car. He runs a car show and all of that. I want to be able to do that because ive become very interested in this stuff. we have a 52 chevy pickup in our garage, and a 54 oldsmobile in a shed.

A: Dad seems like the perfect teacher.

Q: Does anyone know a website that list collector cars?
I have a 1927 Bugatti Kit car that I want to sell, but I’m not sure what price to list it. Is there any website that helps with that? Or even if someone could give me a ball park as to the price I should sell it. I see on Ebay they have a few at 5K. Mine needs some minor work (breaks, etc.) and I was going to list it for 2500.00

A: try ebAY C HOW MUCH THE PRICES ARE THAT WAT ID DO =)

Q: On Burnout Legends, is there another way to get the other collector cars for my garage?
I tried multiplayer but it doesn’t work

A: Each legend car is unlocked by completeing a certain amount of objectives per series. Most are done by winning Gold in all race events while some you can get in face-offs and take downs. However, there is no other way to get them all unlocked unless you use cheats – and as far as I know, being a Console only game – there are no cheats you can use.

Q: which media is the best place to sell collector cars?

A: The Bible for collectors – Hemmings Motor News.

Q: what does the term “numbers matching” mean exactly when looking at vintage/collector cars?

A: there are several “correct ” answers here.
on some titles, the engine number and chassis number are listed.
on other cars the buildslip will list these.;
today i know of no car company that includes the build slip with their vehicles.
on the vin stickers sometimes there will be a code that tells what kind/size engine was installed, but no id numbers.
in the sixties buils slips were common, particularly for gm.

Q: Can anyone recommend a good Classic/Collector Car insurance company?
I’m looking for reasonable terms/conditions and rates to insure a 1967 Chevy Chevelle. Anyone have any experience or recommendations for insurance companies specializing in classic cars?
Thanks!

A: Try Hagerty.com Great rates but you need to be careful about the mileage that you put on in a year. It is usually limited to 2500 and the car has to be kept in a locked garage and you have to have another personal auto policy for your other vehicle.

Q: Who buys vintage and collector cars?
For sale: 1980 Chrysler, Cordoba, V8 rag top, wire wheels

A: I know somebody who does. Agirl in my class, Soraya, her dad does. but i dont think he wants that one.

Q: Have some collector cars. Wondering if anyone knows a site that I can get some pricing for their worth. Thxs?

A: barrett jackson the best for this type of collection

Q: What is the best collector car you can buy for under 10-15,00 dollars and make money on down the road?
This is mainly for avid car collectors. Looking for a solid original condition or fully restored car/truck that has the potential to increase in value in a few years. Any particular year, make, body style, model, engine sizes, VIN code etc. Also what to look for and look out for when buying one…

A: 10/15K is in no way going to get you a fully restored classic car or truck. A fully restored frame off restoration can easily run into 4/8 times that price, just for the restoration, that doesn’t include the price of the car/truck to restore.
You might be able to find a descent running unrestored car truck for that money.
As for WHAT to buy I’d recommend a vehicle you like, cars/tastes are very individual , look around and shop, hit car shows there are normally always vehicles for sale. Check auto trader, hemming motor news and ebay
Be very cautious to get a vehicle that you can find parts for, some foreign cars ect are very hard to get even the simple parts (plugs/wires ect)
I’d stick to a Common brand ford/chevy
It’s like anything else there are no way to say the car will appreciate in value over the years. the car hobby is not a moneymaking venture remember there is always upkeep and the more you drive/show the car the more likely you will have upkeep / maintenance and repairs.
Also remember classic cars/trucks need collector insurance coverage that can be very expensive.

Q: GM closing down Pontiac. What cars will be collector cars in the future? 20 years.?
Or do you think they’ll be like the Hudson?

A: Here’s the golden rule about collector cars…..

If they didn’t want it then – then they wont want it now….

Everybody wants a 69 Roadrunner….

Nobody wants a 69 Pacer…..

Everybody wants a 20 year old Corvette…..

Nobody wants a 20 year old pontiac Sunbird….

See the pattern here?………

Of course lots of folks will want a Pontiac GTO…..

Nobody wants a Pontiac station wagon………

Stick with collecting the Pontiac’s everybody wanted…. Firebirds, GTO’s and similar models…. Those will always get the money!

Q: Have you ever been to a live Barrett Jackson collector car auction?
I have not but watch it when they have them. I wish they would focus less on the people bidding nad more on the cars. But I still love it!
My dream, one of them is to go to barrett jackson scottsdale for a week and just look at all the cars, not bid. But it is like a giant museum there and I would be in heaven….

A: Would love to go and see all the cars. One of my friends and I like to see who can get closer to the selling price. I agree with you I would like to see the cars a little more. If we ever go I’ll let you know and offer the invite if you want to tag along.

Q: How much would these vintage toy cars cost? and is there a toy car collector that could tell me how much it is?
I have 3 toy cars.

1. “models of yesteryear” A 1911 Ford Model T red car- No Y-1
2. “models of yesteryear” A 1912 simplex green car- No Y-9
3. “models of yesteryear” A 1911 maxwell roadster teal blue car- No Y-19

and if it mattered…they are all made in england by lesney

please help me find how much it would cost or if you could find me a toy collector store that would be in Massachusetts and/or Pennsylavania.

Thanks!

A: Models of Yesteryear is a brand made by Matchbox. They are very collectible, but are not worth a ton of money. The three you mentioned are readily available, both in mint condition and in mint condition in their original boxes. Many people threw the boxes away, and unfortunately without their boxes they are worth substantially less money to collectors and car enthusiasts alike.

The Ford Model T is worth $22 with it’s original box unopened and $14 without it’s original box in mint condition. In played with condition it’s worth between $6-$10 depending on the condition.

The Simplex is worth $18 with it’s original box unopened and $7 without it’s original box in mint condition. In played with condition it’s worth between $0.99-$4.99 depending on the condition.

The Maxwell is worth $25 with it’s original box unopened and $12 without it’s original box in mint condition. In played with condition it’s worth between $0.99-$5.95 depending on the condition.
