Q: The best Automotive Blog?
According to you who is the best automotive blogger?

I am looking for the best automotive blogs… could you help me?

thanks!

A: If you are looking toward the hot rodding scene check out www.BangShift.com for lots of great information.

Q: I am looking for the new Lexus TV spot advertising the upcoming LS600h.?
The commercial made no mention of the model specifically beyond saying it’s an LS I believe, but did say it was a hybrid and had 438hp. The spot was all about controlling speed, and the characteristics of speed, and how the new Lexus Hybrid LS would bring a new characteristic to speed. It was a 30 second spot. I could not find it on youtube or through a yahoo search. I am looking because I want to post the spot in my automotive blog. Thanks.

A: That I know of, there isn’t an LSh commercial yet. But yes, it will be a hybrid version of the LS. From what I’ve heard, the LSh will have 480hp, not 438. They’ve upped the horsepower to compete more. Did you know the LSh will have the power of a V12 and the fuel efficiency of a V6? Pretty cool, huh?

Q: I Want to do blogging for my sites. How to do effective blogging?
Am working on automotive related sites and those are car lights related sites. So i need to submit in only automotive related blogs are any type of blog.

A: i think this is the wrong area for Blogging info

Q: What are some decent blogs sites to join?
I’d like to write a blog, but I’m not sure which one to join. I want to write just general stuff, like personal experiences, no specific catagory like automotive or anything. I don’t want to end up signing up to some lame gamers blog or something, so I’d like some recommendations.

yes, that’s what I mean.

A: Do you mean, like a site where you can get your own blog? A pre-designed template?

Q: Do you support the Obama Newspaper Bailout Bill S. 673 which will create ACORN type non for profit newspapers?
http://thehill.com/blogs/blog-briefing-room/news/59523-obama-open-to-newspaper-bailout-bill

Q: Do Cars really run on Water?
Do cars really run on nothing but water for extended periods? I admit I’m highly skeptical. So, I challenge anyone to prove that it is or is not possible. Proof is NOT Joe Blow’s blog, or a YouTube video, but a reasonable source like a science journal, government agency, scientific organization, etc.

I can state two reasons I am skeptical:
1) I am under the impression that hydrogen production is a net-energy loser, and
2) not one of the automotive X prize competitors teams’ websites have a car running on water: http://www.fuelefficiency.org/?q=automotive-x-prize (links on lower right side).
However, this is not proof. I’d like some authoritative source that proves at least one of the claims is legitimate, or debunks them.

A: You’ve really stated it yourself.

#1 is the “essence” of the second law of thermodynamics. Water would be one of the worst sources of trying to obtain energy, as the amount of energy to break apart water molecules is huge. In addition to the standard molecular bonding, water also has what is known as hydrogen bonding, which makes the bonds of water even more difficult to break and separate hydrogen and oxygen. Most hydrogen production that I’ve seen in current discussion is actually extracting the hydrogen from coal. The resulting chemical reaction results in an output of hydrogen and oxygen, but the initial hydrogen is coming from some type of hydrocarbon.

Q: Which Luxury Crossover would you choose?
IF YOU HAD TO, Which one would you purchase from the following list? THE LIST!!!

Q: Fuel pump only works when jumped…?
The fuel pump on my 97 Cavalier only runs when it is jumpstarted. What could cause that?

I’ve been having trouble with the car no starting.. Anti theft light coming on.. And now, since the fuel pump was jumped, found a major leak at the fuel line. More details can be found (if you are good with auto repair, and may be able to give me advice) on this blog of mine, read through to the bottom, I have updates on my comments…

Could the PCM cause the fuel pump to only work when jumpstarted?
Or… Could it be from the leak?

I know little abotu automotive! =/
Thanks for your answer!

Actually, I meant jumpstarting the fuel pump – not the battery.

…But, I have had some issues with the battery charge as well. When I try the “relearn procedure”, which is leaving the key in the on position for 10 minutes, it sometimes needs jumpstarted (battery) after… So.. I’ll look into that, too.
DETAILS: I have all the details on my multiply blog: http://gypsysunrise.multiply.com/journal/item/22/97_Cavalier_wont_start_after_PCM_replacement_-_any_ideas_Help?replies_read=2

This has been such a confusing and frustrating problem!

A: I agree with checking the relay. Swap the a/c relay with the fuel pump relay. It may be weak. The fuel pump itself could be the problem but seems unlikely. A high drawing fuel pump should blow the fuse before requiring that kind of boost. It is also possible that the pcm driver is going bad.
i would start with the relay. If you have an amp meter check the draw the fuel pump is making. There is one more fairly likely possibility on that car that just came to mind. The PCM is mounted low in front. You may want to disconnect it completely, and check the connectors for corrosion. Also make sure that all the pins on both sides of the connectors are good and that all the wires/pins are pushed in all the way. I would do this right after swapping relays.

Q: Are we too close to the forest to see the trees? This article from Pravda! They’ve been there…we’re going!?
Obama Taking U.S. in ‘Descent into Marxism,’ Soviet-Era Newspaper Commentary Says
Tuesday, June 02, 2009
By Fred Lucas, Staff Writer

Vladimir Lenin, the Marxist leader who helped establish the Soviet Union, which lasted in Russia from 1917 to 1991(CNSNews.com) – A commentary published in the once-official newspaper of the Soviet Union heralded America’s “descent into Marxism” citing the United States’ takeover of General Motors, poor education standards, and the election of Barack Obama as president.

The opinion piece in Pravda, one of the Soviet-era newspapers still published in Russia, carried the headline, “American Capitalism Gone with a Whimper,” and was written by Stanislav Mishin, who runs the blog “Mat Rodina.”

“It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American descent into Marxism is happening with breath-taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hopeless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people,” wrote Mishin.

The article claimed that America’s descent took place in three stages:

“First, the population was dumbed down through a politicized and substandard education system based on pop culture, rather than the classics. Americans know more about their favorite TV dramas than the drama in D.C. that directly affects their lives.”

Secondly, “their faith in God was destroyed, until their churches, all tens of thousands of different ‘branches and denominations’ were for the most part little more than Sunday circuses and their televangelists and top protestant mega-churches were more than happy to sell out their souls and flocks to be on the ‘winning’ side of one pseudo-Marxist politician or another.”

It continued, “Their flocks would reject Christ in hopes of earthly power. Even our Holy Orthodox churches are scandalously liberalized in America.”

“The final collapse,” said the Pravda article, “has come with the election of Barack Obama. His speed in the past three months has been truly impressive. His spending and money printing has been a record setting, not just in America’s short history, but in the world. If this keeps up for more than another year, and there is no sign that it will not, America at best will resemble the Wiemer Republican and at worst Zimbabwe.”

Elaborating on the Obama administration’s now-dominant control over General Motors, Mishin mentioned the firing of its CEO by the administration and now its “‘bold’ move of declaring that he and another group of unelected, chosen stooges will now redesign the entire automotive industry and will even be the guarantee of automobile policies.”

Russian “Prime Minister Putin, less than two months ago, warned Obama and UK’s Blair, not to follow the path to Marxism, it only leads to disaster,” the article said.

A: Good point. Historic events are happening around us, and we allowed the election of the worst possible people to deal with it. Marxist strategy is to take advantage of /create economic distress, as a good method of getting people to cling to big government.

That’s why anti-business douche bags should never be in power. I mean, unless you WANT to rely on the government for everything.

Q: I have no future.. Yes, another one of these!?
I graduated highschool back in 03 and have been going to college off and on since with no real career path in mind. I’ve done all kinds of work to get by: HVAC, automotive work, some work at the airport, and it goes on.. I have been jobless for the past 3months or so and feel pretty miserable about not going anywhere with my life. I’m currently going to school for computer networking but I don’t really know if that is what I want. I can’t land a job within the field because everyone wants 100+ years of experience and I can’t really tell how that field is just by going to school.

Sad to say but I don’t have any hobbies, I sleep late and wake up super late, I do have enough cash to get by for a while luckily, but I’m feeling down.. big time! In my early 20s with no real friends, girlfriend, nothing.. I don’t plan on /wrists or anything like that but life freakin sucks! I think I can’t find anything that makes me truly happy. I think I need to get put on some meds to be honest. Or maybe I should just do some community service = Or better idea, I can sit in front of a webcam and blog about all kinds of BS for hours and post it up on youtube and just do that everyday! People like that stuff.. right?

God I need help
Great I posted this in the Jokes & Riddles section!

A: Contact a company called kforce. They find people jobs in the computer information technology field.

Q: Classic Cars……..?
I am trying to learn about classic cars like mustangs, gran torinos, and pontiac firebirds. does anyone know some good books or websites that have info on more than just a few different types of cars?

A: Here’s a good site that has high level info on a broad range of muscle cars. It’s a great starting place for you.

http://www.muscle-car-dynamics.com/index.html

Once you have a list of muscle cars that you want to narrow down on, go to www.wikipedia.com and type in the name of the car. The wiki has tons of specific information and links to more sites.

I agree with the previous answer also, be sure to check out local muscle car shows. The people there will enjoy talking to you about their muscle car, and any other muscle car that you have questions about. Reading can’t take the place of seeing the cars in person and learning about them first hand.

Have fun researching!

Q: classic cars?
Was classic cars manufactured on a production line like today cars are?

A: Since some weasel named Ford invented the “assembly line”, yes they was. But not before.

Q: How to learn about classic cars?
I love, love, love classic cars. That is partly because I like vintage things and partly because they are sooooo beautiful. I’ve experienced some trouble because nobody around me knows anything about classic cars to answer all the questions I have, so I’ve decided to learn about it myself. If anyone knows of any websites or books I can check out so that I can learn more about my favorite cars I would appreciate it. Thanks for any help you can give.

A: A great website to visit is www.oldride.com. They have an extensive directory of all things classic car related. There are classifieds, a library full of information regarding individual makes and models, and event directory (in case you did want to visit some local car shows and pick the owners brain), and they also have a question and answers forum. There are a ton of great books out there, too many to list here. One thing you could try is visiting your local library and find a book there that interests you. Have fun and enjoy.

Q: Which classic cars have appreciated in value quickest?
I want to get a classic car because I love them, but the only way that I can convince my family to let me have one will be to tell them that it’s an investment. I know that classic cars appreciate in value, but which ones appreciate the quickest?

A: all of them are appreciating but any dodge, plymouth, especially the chargers, road runners, cuda’s, challengers or any R/T models are sky rocketing right now, I figure they all will start losing value after the next 10 yrs. as all the baby boomers will be dying off and thats who’s fueling the market on them right now.

Q: How can I get into restoring classic cars?
I have always been fascinated with classic cars and was curious how someone got into restoring them as a part time hobby. I have NO experience whatsoever with building or even repairing cars but I really want to learn. Just from doing basic research it seems VERY complicated (bent frames, rusted steel, missing original parts etc…). Any ideas on how to begin? How much would an initial investement on necessary/required tools run?

A: I have been restoring cars for a long time, and love it.I would start by going to car shows looking how cars are restored and talking to the people who restored them. Also read every old car magazine you can get your hands on.Then buy an old car and get going.

Q: Looking to learn more about classic cars, where should I start?
I am extremely interested in old cars, and someday would like to own a classic car dealership. However, I don’t have a great deal of experience and I’m just wondering where would be the best place to start learning. Are there and recommendations anyone has on books, or any other information anyone has to offer would be much appreciated. Thanks a lot!

A: i own a repair shop,,and we do a lot of work on some of the old classics ,,a good place to start would be to start going to a lot of car shows,,you,ll get very familiar with a lot of the old ones, and it helps you learn about the ones that are worth restoring,,and the ones that are not,,it really will help though in getting used to being around them,,i started back in the real early 70,s and went from there,,there are a lot of books on the market, but experience is the best way to learn anything,,another thing that will help,,find an old car you can buy to fix,,learn all about it that you can ,,this will be a good teacher, good luck with it,i hope this help,s.

Q: What classic cars are least/most expensive to maintain?
I would imagine it is easier to find parts for 1960s General Motors car than it’d be for a 1960s AMC because GM is still around. I don’t know a lot about maintenance of cars, but any classic car I’d get would be worked on by my mechanic. What brands would be easiest to find parts for and hence least expensive to maintain? What brands most rare parts and expensive?

A: Means you’re not doing it yourself, have you considered going straight out of the catalogue? Year One offers just about everything for the 69 Camaro through their catalogue, including the entire body made from fiberglass. It’s possible to build it up almost entirely without ever having to go to another source or a junk yard.

As far as AMC goes, a lot of the driveline parts were interchangeable. You may have a hard time finding body panels, but I don’t think it’d be too hard to find much else. Sometimes there are people out there who just hoard one kind of auto. I know of a guy in Wyoming who has nothing but 55-57 Chevy’s, but he must have acres of parts and hundreds of cars.

Also, in a lot of these older cars, their engines are even more basic than what they are today. No computers, fuel injection, electric transmissions…everything is straightforward and easy to maintain. I know a lot of people who start out that way…learn the basics, then move up. I know in my ‘70, it took maybe an hour total to pull the drivetrain out…just a few wires and bolts…nothing serious.

Just take a look around out there, and take a chance. SOmetimes it only takes one donor car to make your build-up perfect.

Q: What website can i go to buy classic cars?
i buy classic car. not the ones that cost over 45,000 the ones that cost like 10,000 and under but in good condition. it has to be a good website that doesn’t cheat you out of your money! The cars have to be chevy convertable 40. thanks!

A: Craigslist.com search for classic cars in your area!

Q: How can I look up my classic cars history?
I have a 1965 mustang and recently wanted to look up it’s history. I know that my grandfather tried to keep it all original but there have been a few questions raised about things such as whether it had seat belts or not originally since it has a bench. I know on newer vehicles you could look up the vin but I can’t find a site to look up classic cars on. Any help is much appreciated.

A: Your not going to find much history, best to just ask family and see if they have any paper work on it.. they did all come with seatbelts from the factory, but all factory records have been destroyed..

email the owner of the 65-66 Mustang registry..
klaus@early-mustang.com

Q: What’s the difference between Big Block and Small Block Engines for Classic Cars?
What’s the difference between Big Block and Small Block Engines for Classic Cars? How much horsepower are in each.

I’m also looking for any kind of info about differents engines in different cars in the mid 60’s and early 70’s.

A: About 150 hp

Q: What are good, cheap classic cars to buy?
I am only 15 so I can’t go on the roads yet However, i love classic cars and i was wondering which are good ones to buy, but also cheap. I was looking to pick a cheap one up that needs work. I am only interested in safe ones, not Minis as they are too low. Also, would it be expensive to insure a classic car at 17? I live in the UK btw

A: I think you should look for something you like. Have a goal, but keep your mind open. It seems like you already have an idea. So to start off, try saving up and keeping the cars in mind. That way when you see a good bargain you won’t have to pass because you’re broke. Also, if you’re looking to fix it up saving is even better.

Q: Want to deal in vintage and classic cars (pre-1945) But dont have the capital. What to do?
Besides OWNING a vintage car can anyone tell me if there are other wways of dealing in classic cars and profitingfrom them? Would like to buy one, have it appreciate, sell it and re-invest in more expensive models. Dont have the means. Any suggestions? Also: a used car dealer license is on $75.00 in michigan

A: An honest question. This is a field loaded with lots of people looking to make a quick buck.
That aside, you’ll need to become very knowledgeable on antique cars and trucks.
Most of the well off dealers are the ones who have done their homework and beat on certain cars to become the next money makers.

Q: Is there a video game that lets you restore classic cars?
I am interested in finding a video game that will let you take an old junker car and restore it. Does anyone know a game that lets you do this? If not that maybe just a game that lets you race classic cars. Thanks

A: try,
scar face -the world is yours
driver parallel lines
grand theft auto sanandreas
gta IV

but remember these require high end configuration
about 1GB ram,DVD drive,256MB graphics card(suggested 512MB)

Q: will classic cars be illegalised because of the new laws on emmissions and mpg?
and if not will there be huge taxes for the owners of classic cars?

A: Not likely. There are so few classic cars in relation to the number of new cars on the road that their poor mileage and lack of emmissions controls make very little impact on the air or on oil usage in the country overall.

Besides not being a lot of classic cars on the road, most classic cars that are still around aren’t driven much anyway – I own 1 and my Dad owns 2 and we probably don’t drive them even 1000 miles per year combined.

Q: Can somebody give me a good website 4 classic cars?
I am looking 4 pics of beautiful, tinted up, classic cars: galaxy, fleetwood caddy, ect… Also, any nwer cars like the mitsubishi eclipse, Lexus LF-A, Chevy Impala, ect…
I am looking 4 cars that have been pimped out.

A: www.hemmings.com
www.caranddriver.com
www.motortrend.com
www.autoanything.com

Use Google and I’m sure you’ll find about ten thousand sites where you can find pictures of “tricked out” cars and trucks. Good luck

Q: How long are police car videos saved?
How long are the videos police record in their cars saved for? And what determines whether they are saved, erased, or etc.

A: As already mentioned … department policy determines how long video is saved. Specific cases may be kept longer such as DUI’s or other evidence depending on the case and it’s stage in prosecution.

Q: Can anyone here recommend a good site for downloading car videos?
A site which i can download free car videos like divx.com.

A: http://www.streetfire.net

Q: Where can I see how to fix car videos online?
i need to be able to see stuff on a chevy blazer.

A: autozone.com teaches u also

Q: Where can I download videos of car crashes?
Where can i download car crash footage? the keyword being “download” not watch, but download. so don’t say youtube because that would be a waste of time considering that you can’t download videos from them.

A: Try TubeHunter Ultra which downloads Music/Audios and videos from hundreds of video sharing webs to any format you want.

===========================
TubeHunter Ultra downloads YouTube/Myspace/Metacafe/Dailymotion videos to PC/iPOD/PSP/ZUNE/MOBILE
Homepage of TubeHunter – “www.neoretix dot com”

Q: How do I play music videos in my indash dvd player in my car?
I was wondering how I play music videos in my car dvd player?

A: If u mean watch the screen while driving, then just ground the brake wire from the stereo wires and u can watch movies while u drive and not just when its parked. There should be a wire labeled brake wire in the stereo wires and u just ground it with the ground wire in the harness or ground to the vehicle chasis itself.

Q: Where can I find bloody car crash videos?
My drivers ed teacher was telling us about these videos of people crashing and what happens if they don’t buckle up, but he said they were to graphic to show in class. Is there any website with videos like that?

A: google and youtube.

Q: Where is there How to work on car videos online?
I need some for a chevy blazer

A: crutchfield.com

Q: Any way to bypass the security feature to play iPod videos through nav while the car is moving?
A) Yes I know it’s illegal to play videos on the front nav.
B) Is there a way to bypass the default security feature that disables the videos from playing while the car is moving?

A: You have to locate the wire that senses that the car is in park or that the EBrake is activated. Once you find this wire you will hook it to a simple switch with the other end hooked to a ground.

This will bypass the safety feature…you will likely have to toggle the switch from off to on to make it think you just put the EBrake on. Also keep the switch somewhat hidden in case you get pulled over so you can switch it back to legal mode.

Some older flip out displays do not require a “change of state” (you flipping the switch) and will always work if you just ground the wire….use a switch to cover both types.

Mikec

Q: What is a good song to go in the background of car racing videos?

A: …the Dave Matthews Band —”CRASH”

Q: I am looking for Grewsome car crash videos, perferable with kids?
I know this sounds like an awful idea but my son has a death wish and I don’t think he understands it. He was inches away from getting hit by a car going 30MPH. Literally inches and he had the nerve to call me a bitc’h for yelling at him to get out of the street and making him come inside. I want him to see what can happen to him. I want him to learn from others mistakes before it happens to him.
for those that don’tlike the idea other ideas are welcome but talking does NOT work niether does any kind of punishment and I can’t keep him locked up all day.
I agree it’s a bad idea but seeing his body in pieces is worse

A: Please be aware: showing your child photos or videos of violent accidents, etc., under most state laws in the U.S., falls under the same laws that cover showing sexually explicit materials to a minor. Either case, if discovered by Child Protective Services, could result in criminal prosecution, loss of custody and/or jail-time. I recommend you find another way to get through to your child.

My recommendations: take your child to a traffic safety course for children. Inquire at your local police department, highway department, and/or Department of Public Safety. Any or all of these should have videos and there should be specialists in childhood education who can explain traffic safety and its importance to your child.

I would also like to encourage family counseling for you and your child to help reestablish your roles as parent and child so that in the future (a) YOU will have a better idea of productive ways to help your child, and (b) your CHILD will learn to respect you and respect your authority. Check your yellow pages for family counselors under ‘counseling’ and/or mental health (I realize this isn’t a mental health issue, but a lot of child psychologists and family therapists also help with these kinds of things)

Best of luck.

Q: How do I burn music videos to a DVD for a CAR?
I have a CUSTOM dvd player in my car. It is a IN DASH touch screen Pioneer.

I want to burn music videos onto im guessing a DVD+R? But I want to hear the music and play the video….

I need to know the format it has to be? What program will do that? And a program that lets you put multiple videos on 1 DVD.

And does anyone know where you can get music videos from?

A: You may try this disc creator, I always use it to burn music video to DVD for my car player, it works pretty well for me all the time, and here is a step by step guide about how to use it
http://www.freedvdripper.net/how-to-burn-song-photo-data-video-to-dvd-cd-bluray.html
Hope it helps, email me if you need further help.

Q: Why are there so many videos of people getting hit at rally car races?
There are SO many videos online of people standing on the side of the road in a rally car race and the car loses control and smashes them. Hasn’t anybody learned not to stand unprotected where cars are racing around curves?

A: That’s just mother nature’s way of thinning the herd of morons.

Q: Does anyone know of any crash test videos where the car acrually survived in a good way?
Like of course the car is going to crumple up, but like where the dummy survives, like it has a really good crumple zone.

A: Try this site,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

http://crashtestvideos.magnify.net/

Q: Can I have some car crash videos please?
Please don’t report me.

Q: which apple iphone can be hacked and also play videos on the pioneer avic-D3 car radio unit?
i have a pioneer D-3 installed in my car and im thinking about purchasing an apple iphone, but i dont know which one can play videos on the pioneer D-3. and also which generations of the iphone thats can play videos on the pioneer D-3 and be hacked?

A: To my knowledge none of the iphones have this capability (probably not what you wanted to hear). The best thing for what your trying to do is the Zune by Microsoft. It displays:Artist of song being played, any album art, name of album and name of song. You can set it to display all content directly on the screen of your Avic. You can store tons of content on the 30gb or 80gb version to play directly in your car. A lot of my faithful Apple friends hate anything made by Microsoft, but once they seen the amazing picture and sound quality produce by the Zune, they were sold. It’s Definitely the best MP3 Player for car audio.

Forgot to mention, the cars can be used or new…which would put every car in the price-range….some barely though haha

A: None of that second paragraph is technically correct. On that budget you’d only be able to afford the R8, F430 or the Gallardo, mayyyybe the DBS if you’re very lucky.

Q: I don’t know anything about cars… can you help me “find” one?
Hi!

So, first of all…let me just say I am not the type of girl that looks at a super hot car and says “ooh! I want that!” I rarely look at a car and think that is what I want, however I have been thinking it would be nice to try and find a new one. I have never gotten a car of my own. My first was a piece of crap, and the one I have now is my grandmas. Sure they got me around, and I was grateful…but maybe its time to, upgrade! Haha.

So I like “cute” cars. I guess haha. And I tend to like rolls, and circles. Does that make sense??…I don’t care for those big boxy things. My parents hate soft tops, so I’ve come to dislike them too.

If you asked me my favorite kind of car, I would probably say a jeep…or BMW bug. I also LOVE old looking cars, but I am not expecting to get one. I do, actually, love Renault Dauphines. They are horrible cars so I’ve heard:) but just so cute!

However, I dont know any other kinds really. I want it to be safe, practical, and low gas milage, and MYABE even a hybrid. I don’t want a brand new one, but not a super old clunker. I like cute, and fun…I guess I just dont want an “old lady car” anymore. I have a ford taurus right now haha.

I know its a lot, but can anyone think of some types of cars (maybe with picture links) that could possibly be my next car??

A: Here are my recommendations:

Ford Fusion – very nice car overall, good on gas, dependable, and you can get either a new one or slightly used one for good price.

Mazda 3 – very stylish and sporty, good on gas, reliable, and fun to drive.

VW Beetle – since you like them so much. Don’t know much about these cars other than they look cute

I don’t recommend you getting a Jeep since their products have gone down in reliability and you’ll be paying lots of money just to fuel up.

Here are some other cars to consider:
Honda Civic
Ford Focus
Toyota Corolla
Subaru Impreza

Make sure to bring someone with you to the dealership, like you parents, or someone who knows about cars, or you’ll have a good chance of being screwed by the dealer.

I hope this helps, good luck.

Q: Now can you say we beat Europe in high performance cars?
When you go to this sight, click on the picture of the red Corvette and browse through the pop up window. Some really cool American cars that top European super cars. http://www.forbes.com/lifestyle/2005/11/23/fastest-american-cars-cx_dl_1128feat_ls.html
Did anybody even see the link and click on the red Corvette, or did you all assume that it was only about dinky street cars?

A: i once say a newer $25,000 firebird with a turbo outrun a $300,000 ferrari on streetfire.net

Q: What can I do. Firestone employees steal the parts of my car?
I went to buy 4 tires today to firestone store. They steal the wheel covers on my Volkswagen Jetta also the car brand tunner. Replaced for sheap covers and super old car brand tunners. I paid them 380 dolares for the tires I didn’t noticed until I got home. The store was already close.
I don’t have pictures of the car before this. I have to go tomorrow to complain about this. Give me advice

A: Probably nothing. but you can encourage them to pay by being a respectful pain in the butt. I would bring a few friends (It is intimidating, but dont try to intimidate them), and return at the busiest part of the day. Be respectful but forceful, and make sure that all customers hear what your saying, including the words theft and stole. You may wanna put one of those pens w/ a digital recorder in your front pocket, but check you local laws first to see if it’s illegal to record someone w/o their knowledge and/or consent.

Bring a note book and write down the names of everyone you talk to, and find out and write down the names of everyone who worked on the car, spend at least a half an hour there each time. If you don’t care about pissing off the cops, you could file a police report (don’t start demanding that the police do anything, like search the place, just say you need to get a report). You can tell them that you have to report it to your insurance. The sight of a cop car there, taking the report may make the manager just pay it. Make up some reason to come back the next day, and make sure you talk to a manager every time. Ask them for the number of corporate headquarters, not the customer service line. Ask the manager for the number of his superior, and that superiors superior. if they don’t have it, tell them you return the next day. Make up any reasonable excuse you can to be there and make their day inconvenient. Dont give them any excuse to kick you out. You must always be reasonable and respectful, but dont take “I dont know” of “theres nothing i can do for an answer. “I dont know” “theres nothing i can do” you say “Well let me talk to someone with more authority, who’s your regional manager?” And don’t forget to rate it on Yelp and other sites. And complain to every customer service rep you can get in contact with, in a respectful but forceful way, making sure to mention names of the people at the shop.

Q: Has anyone bought a car from Super Replicas?
anyone have bought a car replica before form super replicas? I want to buy one. There replicas are so good in the pictures but I want some references. I contact them and the prices are good and very good service however can anyone let me know your feedbacks??

Their websites are:
www.supereplicas.com
www.superreplicas.org (ferrari website)
www.thereplicacarbuilder.com

A: http://www.ripoffreport.com/auto-dealers/supereplicas-super-r/supereplicas-super-replicas-6d2m6.htm

They are SCAMMERS , Lebrons car is AUTHENTIC they never built it.customized at unique whips

I saw one of their replicas and it was laughable , the donor car was junk it was rusty and leaking fluids and barely ran the paint job looked like it was sprayed at a high school autoshop

Fit and finish were poor

Q: What kind of mpg can I expect with a 71 Super Beetle?
I’m currently in the process of restoring a 71 Super Beetle to its original state. The car will basically be like new when we’re done with it – rebuilt engine, practically new everything, you get the picture. I haven’t been able to find a good source of info on mpg for a 71 though, and I’m wondering what kind of mileage I can expect to get from this car when it’s done from people with first hand experience with the 71 or 72 Super. Thanks!!

A: wow. i need these guys to work on my car, too.

i drive a 71 super, 1600+ (1645 if i recall correctly) engine.

NO DIFFERENCE in power between super and standard beetle. 1600 engine is 1600 engine. difference is the super has a macpherson strut front end and the spare sits flat, also has more trunk space.

mine gets 25-27 consistently.

enjoy! it’s a blast to drive.

Q: How do i design a car with like photos and stuff on it in Forza Motorsport 2?
Ive seend people with cars on there with like a picture of super sayian goku and stuff and a kayne west car, i just want to know how to design a car myself like that on there, plz help?

A: you have to beat all the races in pro mode?

.

Q: Does anyone know any cars that look very similar to the bmw convertible m3?
http://www.caradvice.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/bmw-m3-conv-16.JPG
here is a picture, it is my dream car but it is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too expensive.
honestly i dont care much about it being able to go super fast and stuff, i just want a cheaper version of this car that looks a loooot like this. any suggestions???

A: A 2006 325Ci or 330Ci convertible; or 2007+ 328i or 335i convertible are going to be real close. Of course there are differences between them and the M3, but they will look more like an M3 than any other car brand obviously. You will lose the fat tires, quad exhaust, hood vents, side vents, hood bulge, flared fenders, and large air dam in front with no fog lights for more air intake. But, it is still a BMW 3 series convertible at a smaller price than the M3.

Q: Dress code for pictures my friends and I are getting taken?
My two best friends and I are getting pictures professionally taken tomorrow. They’re both super rich and have super nice clothes, cars, houses and everything like that, and I don’t. Anyhow, I want to wear a tank top, not a skanky one, it’s got thicker straps and everything, but they say they want the pictures to be classy and that wearing a tank isn’t ‘classy.’ But they want to wear heels with short shorts! They say that if they’re paying for a third of the photos that if they don’t want me to wear a tank, I can’t, but I’m also paying for a third of the photo’s and I don’t want them to wear heels with shorts, but they say that’s different. I don’t see how. How do I confront them and talk some sense into them?

A: You are completely right; heels and short shorts are /not/ classy at all. They may accentuate the length of the legs, but that’s just not classy.

Neither is a tank top, of course, but hey, more so than their idea.

You could say that you don’t have short shorts that match your heels, and if you could all wear outfits that are extremely classy. A black and white top (solid colors, no polka-dots or patterns) with a black pencil skirt or straight-legged pants will do perfectly; or go for a black and white dress that compliments your body type.

Q: Where are the best photo locations in the Bay Area, CA?
I need exact locations or a site that could help me out. I’m hosting a car meet and would like some great backgrounds from the bay area that people can take pictures of their cars with. Street names and cities and what it is, would be super helpful. I live in Fremont which is basically flat with nothing that represents the SF area for those coming from Colorado to see.

A: The viewing areas on either side of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Crissy Field (for another view of the bridge).
Fort Point
Alamo Square (the “painted ladies” homes)
Aquatic Park (views of the Bay/Alcatraz)
The Palace of Fine Arts

Q: Where EXCATLY is the fan relay switch in a 1997 Dodge Neon?
I have got several locations from web browsing with no avail. Someone please help me. Pictures would be super helpful. I am really wanting to fix my car and be on my way.

A: How do you know it is the relay? If you check with auto zone they can show you exactly where it is. NEVER replace any part till you KNOW the problem

Q: Cobalt Super Charged?
Im thinking about buying a Cobalt Supercharged.
It looks like this:

http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/chevrolet-cobalt-pictures-cars290046508

Im not sure exactly how the boost gauge and the air works.
I have heard of people that have blown their engines using
the supercharged system.

My question is. how exactly does a supercharged engine works?
and what would make an engine like this to blow?

A: A supercharger is a forded-air induction system that is much like an air compressor. It spoole s up and forces air into the engine, mixing with more gas, creating a more powerful combustion in the piston. The boost gauge allows you to see and monitor how much PSI is being forced into the engine.
The people who have blown there engines have most likely installed an aftermarket supercharger or turbo charger without properly reinforcing their engine. this will not be the case with the Cobalt SS, which you are looking at.
I personally would suggest you look at a 2004-2005 Dodge SRT4, they have more power, more reliability, better gas mileage and Turbocharged. and it is 4-door.
I hope I have been helpful

Q: Can squad cars take photos of your license plates with their car?
Okay, I jus bought a car & Im super excited to drive around & stuff & today I was driving in the left hand lane doing about 35, 40 & a squad car was coming towards me but going the opposite way with his lights flashing, WAS I STILL SUPPOSE TO MOVE OVER TO THE RIGHT LANE & THEN OVER TO THE SIDE CURB & WAIT FOR HIM TO PASS????

I AM LIKE SUPER PARANOID, THAT MAYBE HE COULD’VE TOOK A PICTURE OF MY LICENSE PLATES SINCE HE WAS ALREADY ON CALL FOR SOMETHING…& DIDNT HAVE TIME TO PULL ME OVER…

Please & Thank You In Advance!!!

A: Many squad cars have video cameras that are controlled from the dash.

So sure, there could be a picture.

Looking for more information about Hybrid Electric Cars? Try visiting the top auto source allhybridcars.com

Q: Are there any Hybrid/Electric cars that are 6 speed manual?
I was wondering if there any hybrid cars that are 5 or 6 speed manual (stick shift)? Would it make sense to make hybrid 5 speed manual vehicles considering 5 speed manual cars are cheaper on gas but does it make a difference to have a 5 or 6 speed that is hybrid (electric)? if that’s even an option.

A: There is a 5-speed manual electric car:

http://greenhome.huddler.com/products/green-vehicles-triac

But currently no other manual hybrids or electrics that I’m aware of. The thing is that while making a transmission manual improves mileage for internal combustion engines, generally that’s not the case for electric motors.

Q: What are some not well known electric/hybrid cars available for sale in the US?
I keep seeing all these stories with various models of hybrids and electric cars. Of course we all know about cars like the Prius, but where are all the other cars at? The ones we see and say ‘oh cool’ but we never see for sale?

A: The Lexus LS 600h L is a real beaut, but is priced over $100,000. I wouldn’t go Japanese though, just admired that one car!

Q: Will we will completely transfer from gas to hybrid or electric cars in my life time?
I’m 15 years old I have always liked old cars mainly 58-77. I hate the way hybrid cars look and I completely hate the idea of electric cars it just doesn’t seem practical. My dad was a mechanic and I always looked up to him because you ask him about anything mechanical and he could tell you what a car is by the sound of it he doesn’t even have to look at it.

A: The gagging fuel belching road burners will be with us until the roads are paid for.To use a gravity well devise to both propel and lift the mass of the vehicle is supposed to be a national secret.People just do not really seem interested in a vehicle that burns no fuel and has no wheels.I will pray for you.

Q: What are some options for electric or hybrid cars?
I was looking for buying a new car and have been wanting to get a new fuel efficient car. Since i drive a lot I will be needing some good fuel efficiency. But with my limited spending I was looking for some government programs and agencies that could help with purchasing a hybrid or electric car. But I have had no luck.

They are pretty expensive and was wondering if anyone found ways to get one for cheap. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

A: The best program I recently saw was federal incentives coupled with some car companies incentives to turn in your gas hog (less than 18 mpg) to something much more fuel efficient (5 commercial and 10 mpg more.) It sounds like up to a $9000 total. Not too shabby.

A number of years ago someone had their vehicle registered commercially and then put advertising on it. This would not be legal everywhere and there would certainly be limitations but it may be worth looking into.

I recently read about a couple that purchased an electric vehicle (Tesla roadster) to travel across the US. They were using it to raise money for charity. No doubt they did not pay full price for the vehicle. If you can come up with a similar plan you might find a less expensive alternative to an outright purchase.

Good luck to you and let me know how it works out.

Q: Electric and Hybrid cars are not that great?
Do people know that coal is burned to create electricity?
And that more toxic metals (compared to a regular car battery) are mined to create the large batteries in both Hybrids and Electric cars?

And that those batteries don’t last very long?

A: if you drive on the highway alot it is not worth it, because the batteries on most highbrid cars only are used until 75 km/h

Q: Is Hybrid Car and Electric Cars are really going to be Future as Success Story?
Electric cars and hybrid cars are need by us, but can they compete today’s cars like in Speed, Power, Comfort, Looks?

A: That’s the whole point of hybrids and electrics. It’s easy to make an electric vehicles fast and powerful, just difficult for it to have range. The first cars to reach 60mph were electric cars. You could easily put in a thousand horsepower electric motor into a car but the batteries would be depleted very quickly. We’ve been able to make gas cars with 50mpg plus back in 1982 which is still better than what the modern hybrids get but they lacked speed and power, the addition of an electric motor making the efficient cars hybrids is what gives the power and performance that the consumer wants.

We really don’t need hybrids and electric cars. We don’t even need so many cars. If we were willing to accept the lackluster performance of the 1982 econoboxes then why enhance the performance with an electric motor? If we want the flexibility to change the fuel source from fossil to something clean like solar by using electric vehicles then why don’t we just synthesize gasoline from CO2 and H2O with solar power? Synthesized fuels could even be carbon negative whilst an electric vehicle with solar generated electricity is at best carbon neutral

Ultimately, Hybrid and electric will be seen for what they are, marketing to create an additional market niche for new cars just like model years, tail fins, station wagons, minivans, SUV’s and Flex Fuel cars. Measures that would actually make a difference such as changing how we make the gasoline just doesn’t make the auto manufacturers any money.

Q: Are hybrid vehicles and electric cars the same?
I want to know if hybrid cars and electric cars are the same or are they different. If they’re different, explain how?

A: Both of these things refer to how the vehicle is powered but they are not the same. It does NOT refer to different fuels. That would be a flex fuel vehicle. It means different engines.

An electric car is powered only by one or more electric motors. The electric motor can get its power from a number of sources. An electric train or bus gets its power from an overhead line or from a special 3ed rail.

A battery powered electric car has the electricity stored in batteries. This vehicle will get all of its power from the batteries. The batteries must be charged from an outlet. You can even have fuel cells that make power for an otherwise electric vehicle.

But there is a special kind of hybrid where the engine does not drive the wheels. Instead it only makes electricity for the electric motor (with any extra amount going to batteries). This is a series hybrid. The proposed Volt is to be a series hybrid. You could plug in this vehicle for some power or you can get all the power from the fuel. But the wheels are driven only by electric motors.

Far more common just now are parallel hybrids. These vehicles have both an electric motor and another (usually gasoline) engine but here both of these engines can drive the wheels. Sometimes they do it together. The Toyota Prius is a parallel hybrid. An older Prius had no option to charge the batteries from an outlet. All the power comes from the fuel.

Hybrids have less of a battery capacity than a pure electric vehicle. Until recently you could not plug in a hybrid to charge its batteries. They had to get all their power from the engine. Now some are “plug in hybrids” In these vehicles you can charge batteries before you start out using an outlet.

A hybrid tries to take advantage of both engines strong points. An electric motor pulls well and is good in stop and go traffic. The gasoline engine is not so efficient but is currently better at going a long distance. A pure electric car will be pollution free in operation, more efficient and cheaper to operate but may not go as far on a complete charge.

Q: How do you feel about hybrid/electric cars?
I would like to know whether you have ever owned a hybrid/electric car and how you feel about them… Even if you have not had one before what are your views on them?
please also include your name, thank you (:

A: At best they are the baby step between gas power cars and electric cars, they really don’t save that much fuel and in some cases get worst fuel mileage then the gas powered equivalent.

At worst they are a waste of time and money. Money that would have been better spent building and researching better batteries.

Personally I take the second view, you have a vastly more complex car with little or no benefits, other than making people feel better about driving. You can get vastly better fuel mileage with less cost.

Q: What are the challenges of widespread use of Hybrid/Electric cars?
I need to know what the problem is of many people using hybrid electricity cars all over the world at once. please be honest. i reeaally need to now. your answer is much appreciated. thankyou.

A: Need to find ways to dispose of all the additional batteries.

Electric cars need to be charged. Unless everybody is charging the cars at night the countries electrical system cant handle the increased demand.

gerboaboy – Auto companies will do which ever is cheaper, more reliable, and easier to sell. If its electric then thats what they will use. Currently electric and hybrid cars cost more which is why they are less common.

Q: Why do car manufacturers make hybrid and electric cars ugly?
It seems as though most hybrid and/or electric cars built by the big manufacturers are very ugly to look at. Why is this? One could almost get the impression that they don’t want them to sell.

A: Your question doesn’t make much sense to me.

Most hybrids look identical to the non-hybrid model version. The only hybrid that looks different is the Prius, because it has no non-hybrid version, and is designed that way in order to make it the most aerodynamic car on the road, which is part of the reason it’s got the best fuel economy available.

The Civic hybrid looks like the Civic, the Explorer hybrid looks like the Explorer, the Camry hybrid looks like the Camry, etc. etc.

As for EVs, for one thing again they have to make them aerodynamic, and there’s not a big market for new technology anyway, so they’re trying to make the cars appealing by making them look ‘futuristic’ or ‘cool’. What you think is ‘ugly’ another person will think looks cool.

That being said, if you want a standard (some might call boring) looking EV, there is the Miles Javlon and Phoenix SUT:

http://www.milesev.com/index.asp#hsv.swf

http://www.phoenixmotorcars.com/index.php

Q: Does Anyone know where to get a hybrid electric cars?
Hey i was wondering about those electric cars they have now that run on a battery for like 12 hours. Gas prices stink!! so I’d like an alternative to gas and i hear they drive really well. thanks!

A: As of July 2008, plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles are not yet in production. However, Toyota,[3] General Motors,[4] Ford,[5] Chinese automaker BYD Auto,[6] California startups Fisker Automotive[7] and Aptera Motors,[8] and Volkswagen[9] have announced their intention to introduce production PHEV automobiles. The PHEV-60 BYD F6DM sedan and F3DM hatchback are expected in 2009;[10] the luxury Fisker Karma PHEV-50 sports car is slated for late 2009; and the Toyota Prius, GM’s PHEV-40 Chevrolet Volt and Saturn Vue and the Volkswagen Golf PHEV50km plug-ins are expected in 2010.[11][12] Conversion kits and services are available to convert production model hybrid vehicles to plug-ins.[13][14] Most PHEVs on the road in the U.S. are conversions of 2004 or later Toyota Prius models, which have had plug-in charging added and their electric-only range extended.

you can check with your local dealers on these

you can compare the top 5 hybrids here.

http://www.edmunds.com/apps/nvc/edmunds/VehicleComparison?styleid=100920075&maxvehicles=5&op=17&tab=printable

Q: Do hybrid cars and electric give you less power in cold weather and are more likely to stall after driving?
through a water paddle on the road? Do electric cars have a drive shaft running through the middle of the car comparment and give you more room?

A: A “stall” is a function of an internal combustion engine when it can’t maintain sufficient RPM to run. An electric car may not run but it won’t “stall.”

There are many ways to power an electric vehicle. Electric trains, trams, subways and some cars get their power transmitted to them by third rail, overhead wires or embedded in the roadway. These will be unaffected by cold weather. http://www.thedailygreen.com/living-green/blogs/cars-transportation/electric-highways-electric-cars-460909

Some cars make their own power with an IC engine and a generator (a series hybrid like the Volt), solar cells (solar car) or fuel cells (FCEV) The IC engine will be unaffected once it is started, the solar vehicle , and the fuel cell vehicle may experience problems with its power supply: http://www.hydrogen.energy.gov/pdfs/review05/fc41_kim.pdf

Power may be stored on the vehicle in Batteries, ultracapacitors or flywheels. Flywheels and ultracapacitors are largely unaffected by cold weather. Battery chemistry is effected. Different battery chemistry will be effected to different degrees. In severe cold weather lead acid batteries may lose 1/2 their power. This is true to a lessor extent with other chemistry’s. http://www.lxe.com/uploadedFiles/pdf/White_Papers/wp_Li-IonBatteries.pdf

The electrical system of an IC engine may be shorted by water splashed from the road. The degree to which this effects electrical vehicles will depend upon how the critical components are shielded from the road. Unlike an IC engine far less heat is produced that requires an open bottom on the engine compartment. It is easier to seal an electric vehicle.

If an electric vehicle has wheel motors for power (Miev) then there is no need for a central hump on the interior. With a centrally located motor the drive train would continue to exist.

Q: Which branch of engineering works/research on hybrid or electric cars?
since hybrid & electric cars are combination of electronic and machanical parts & also a subject of automobiles, does auto engineers does all the work or there r hands of other engineer too?

A: The most applicable field would be electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering is also relevant.

Q: How do hybrid- electric cars work?
Would you buy gas, or plug it in. How does it all work? And what is the cost per month? Specifically honda civic.

A: There seems to be a great deal of confusion about Hybrid vehicles. Simply put, a hybrid vehicle has 2 power sources. It runs on a conventional gasoline internal combustion engine, as well as a nickel-hydride electric engine. Basically, when the car is first started, it runs entirely on stored battery power. Whenever the speed of the vehicle exceeds 20 mph, the gasoline engine automatically takes over for the weaker electric motor. When the vehicle drops below twenty again, the electric motor takes over. As you approach stoplights, the friction of the brakes power friction power generators mounted on the breaking mechanism, which recharges the battery. Also, whenever the car is being run on the gasoline engine, it also charges the batteries. Sounds like it would save a lot on gas right? Not really. The average Hybrid vehicles sticker price is $6000 more than its standard counterpart. Furthermore, those batteries have to be replaced every five years or so, the price of which can exceed $5000. So anything you saved on gas in that five year period, you just blew on replacing the batteries.

Also, one last note, the only time you really save a lot on gas is when you’re doing a lot of in town driving. So if that’s where you do most of your driving, expect to replace those batteries that much sooner.

Q: What is the main difference between gasoline powered and electric hybrid cars?
It’s for homework. Again, no stupid answers, please. Only want a straight answer.

A: A gasoline powered car has an internal combustion engine that provides the drive power for the car.

An electric hybrid has an electric motor that provides the drive power for the car. This is powered by batteries that are recharged by a gasoline powered electric generator. Hence the name “hybrid”. Also, when you slow down, the electric motor functions as a generator to help recharge the batteries.

This is as opposed to an electric car that you would plug in to a socket to recharge.

Q: Is there any used car dealer buying old model car in Toronto?
I am trying to sell my 91 Toyota 4runner, which is in running condition with 197000 km on it. I called 3 used car dealers. They just did not want to take it. If you know any dealer buying old cars, please let me know. Thank you.

A: You will only sell it to a dealer who has a customer looking for it. You are better off to sell it yourself, if a dealer takes it you won’t get much.

Leasing License
Lease Facilitator
The lease facilitator license allows a person to hold himself or herself out to be a leasing agent or leasing company. This person solicits someone to enter a contract of agreement to lease a vehicle. A lease facilitator by definition, is not the lessor or owner of a vehicle, but rather someone who puts the lessor, selling dealer and lessee (buyer) together.
Lessor License
The lessor license is required of a person who, under the terms of a lease agreement in excess of 180 days, gives another person the right to possess and use a motor vehicle that is titled in the name of the lessor.
A lessor licensee does not need to have a lease facilitator license to facilitate leases for themselves. The lessor license includes the ability to facilitate its own leases. However, if the lessor facilitates leases between lessees and other lessors, they would need a lea

Q: How come the used car dealer could get me 6% auto loan with Wachovia so easily?
I just bought a used car from an auto dealer. I required financing and told the dealer I would be happy if I could get a auto loan $10,000 at 6% as I knew my own bank (where I have preferred status) could only offer me 6.49% – and other banks were looking at 9%. Oddly the auto dealer got me the magical 6% with Wachovia with even speaking with the bank (it was 10pm). How did this happen?

A: You just gotta send them enough biz.
Remember everyone wins on this deal

Q: How does a used car dealer value a car?
I often wonder how a used car dealer values a car on his lot. Does he just pull a price out of the air and hope someone pays him that or is there a precise algorithm he uses?

A: Before taking ownership of a car a dealer will obviously need to decide what “trade” price they will be
willing to pay and that decision is usually based on the following factors:

The market conditions they are currently operating in.

What the trade guides may tell them.

The results of researching what cars are selling on the internet for and working back

Experience – many trade buyers just know what their product is worth.

Who they are buying from and how low a price they can offer to successfully conclude the deal.

Stock profiling – looking at how much similar models have sold for recently.

How rare, highly specified and how sought after a model is.

The condition, specification and desirability of the car itself

Once they have considered these factors they can then decide on how they will put a retail margin across the car, and again this will depend on how many they already have (their stock levels) how many are for sale in their own network and more than likely a sense check against similar models on the internet within their radius.

Of course apart from the normal trade considerations about how much profit they are budgeted to make on each car and what they would need to spend on ensuring that car is prepared and presented properly, there are also things like regional variations and anomalies wherein diesels being inexplicably more popular in some places and automatics a safer bet in another.

Q: Does a delaware used car dealer have to provide a state inspection before the purchase of a vehicle?
Im a maryland driver wondering if delaware used car dealer would (have to) provide an out of state inspection before sale of an vehicle?

A: Probably not.

Q: How to become a used car dealer ?
I am working p/t and trying to struggle my way through college and saving some money on the side. I like selling things to make profit, what do I need to become a used car dealer ? I know I will have to rent a little parking lot or something and have the funds to buy some used cars to start but how can I get the used car plates, licenses and stuff ? Thanks!

A: In Texas you have to have to be bonded and apply for a license with the state, establish a place of business with signage with hours of operation posted. Apply and set up a state and local tax license. Off the top of my head these days I’d guess starting out cold a license would would cost 22 – 25 K. I parked mine with a friend of mine and run a couple of cars a year through it and keep dealer tags on my own cars.

Q: What can I do to get money back from a used car dealer when the lemon law does not apply?
I bought a used car from a dealer in Syracuse, NY with a bad transmission. It is a 93 LeBaron with 135,000 miles on it. It drove off the lot OK then the transmission went a few miles later. He’s been “working on it” for OVER 2 MONTHS!! He continues to delay me with new excuses every week. He won’t give me my money back and yet he won’t admit the car is no good. Other than the NY State DMV, Attorney General and the Better Business Bureau are there any other sources besides a lawyer to ask for help?

A: Rope, duct tape and a gun… this might make you feel better, but it is quite illegal…LOL

Legal…ask for the car back. Park it across the street from his lot with a LEMON sign on it with the information that you bought from the car lot across the street. See if that effects his sales and he makes you an offer to move the car. (It is even better if you can get permission from one of the neighboring businesses to park your car on their property so the salesman can not claim your car is abandoned and have it towed.

Q: How do you obtain a used car dealer license in California?
anyone know the steps you need to take to obtain a used car dealer license in California?

A: This page will tell you the dealer licensing requirements for CA:

http://www.dmv.org/ca-california/dealer-licensing.php

There are links to the various forms and applications that you need, along with information about the fees you’ll have to pay and classes you’ll have to take. Hope this helps!

Q: I bought a car from a used car dealer in missouri and now i find out that there is a lien on the car. What do?
I recently purchased a used car from a dealer in branson, mo. The title they gave me to get transfered didnt say anything about a lien but now i have recieved a letter from the state saying there is a lien on the car and i must get a lien release from the bank that has it. What do I do. And is it illegal for the dealer to sell it to me like that.

A: somebody messed up at the dealer, you need to notify the dealer, and your best bet to keep the car in your possession is to pay the lien (I know this sucks, but you will get your money back from the dealer eventually, but more likely than not, you will have to sue, but by eliminating the third party, this really uncomplicated you getting YOUR MONEY BACK. if it is hanging in the air, who owes what to who? it makes it way more hassle later, by buying the title and getting it clear up front, there is no question a few years down the road who really owns it. Sorry but honestly I would expect the worst, (you pay way more money than you thought) hope for the best (the dealer eventually makes good) and here is why, anytime you start a small claims action against a business, If the dealer is trying to get more bank financing, or say another car manufacturer to sign on board, when they check into his financials, any irregular things that pop up (LIKE SOMEBODY SUES YOU FOR BEING A GREEDY A HOLE) it makes the business owner look bad. And from a business standpoint, settling a dispute quickly and discreetly keeps things under the radar so to speak, and the dealer can say well it was a misunderstanding blah blah blah, I fixed the problem asap. (people often give up, but any action is better than no action I always say, so its worth a shot, and if they will not cooperate voluntarily, (write several letters, this makes it clear you tried to settle it with no hassle and makes the owner look bad later if he ignores your letters. then go down to the courthouse, file small claims, (I always pay a bit extra to have a sheriff serve the papers, because he has a gun, and it looks great to the owner when the sheriff pulls up to his business while its open, with what all the customers know is a collection notice!! Best of luck, ( calmly talk to everyone at the bank with courtesy and respect do not get angry, flip out or anything negative, whatever you do, if you find the right employee who can help, sometimes things go smoother often times the bank will let you buy out the car, for less ok, keep in mind, the bank DOES NOT WANT THAT CAR OK? THEY ARE A BANK? SO PLAY THE GAME, YOU AND THE BANK HAVE COMMON GROUND, THEY HAVE A LOAN ON THE CAR, YOU ALREADY PAID FOR IT ONCE, you can go outside after talking to the bank and shoot a watermelon or something later, or maybe take a valium if you have a prescription an hour before, but calm cool and collected with the bank officer or the loan officer which ever you end up with. Hang in there, do what you have to do.

Q: Is it legal for an used car dealer to put the wrong mileage on the contracts I signed when buying?
I am a first time car buyer. I bought an used truck and found out after signing the contracts, that the dealer put the wrong mileage on the contracts. I have proof that the mileage is wrong, and I am wondering if it is legal for the dealer to put inaccurate mileage on contracts. If not, what should I do about this?
The mileage on the contract I signed was wrong, and because of this, I couldn’t take advantage of the John Elway three day guarantee. I made the mistake of trusting the car dealer, and now I am stuck with a truck I don’t want. I have proof that the mileage on the contract was wrong, but I already signed the contract. Is it legal for the car dealer to print inaccurate information on a contract, and is there anything I can do about it?

A: Why did the mileage stop you from taking it back within the 3 day guarantee???? I think you just have buyer’s remorse and want to get out of buying the vehicle so thinking up excuses. Won’t work…. you signed the contract, it’s yours.

Q: Im a used car dealer and when business is slow the car wash guy does nothing what can make him do?
Im a used car dealer with about 50 cars on my lot. when business is slow he sit and does nothing ( which he has for three days now). i made him re arrange the lot, put armor all on all the tires, have him start all the cars see if they start if not charge the battery what else can i make him do to keep him busy?

A: You’ve got 50 cars on your lot…if he washed only 7 cars per day (1 hour each), it would take him over 7 days to complete washing them all. By that time, you’ll have sold some, added new ones and the 7-day old ones will be dirty again. Why not just keep him on a quota system of washing 6-7 cars per day?

If it’s raining, you could have him help out in the office doing filing, or the parts department running parts…cleaning up the guest waiting area, sweeping floors, cleaning the windows of the building, emptying trash cans, etc.

Q: Is 100k enough to start a used car dealer in Massachusetts?
I want to start a used car dealer in the State of Massachusetts. I have about 150k in cash but willing to invest 100k. Thanks!

A: u just need 1 car and a buyer, soon u will have 2 cars for sale, then 3, 4….ect. that is plenty of money

Q: Do I need a used car dealer license to sell salvage title cars on-line?
I would like to buy salvage title cars and resell them to public. Do I need a used car dealer license to sell salvage title cars on-line? Can I have an office at home instead of renting an expensive office if I buy and sell one or two cars at a time and keep cars in my home garage?

Thank you very much in advance.
Student.
NC, Raleigh.

A: If you’re doing it as a business, or making a decent amount of profit at it, or selling a certain number of cars in a year, yes, you need a dealer license.

You’re acting like a dealer, making money like a dealer, why would you not need a license like a dealer?

Q: What can i do about a used car dealer who sold me a car that can not pass smog?
The catalitic converter is original from ‘92 as is the rest of the exhaust. My mechanic tells me that it needs a new cat and possibly a new muffler and oxygen sensor as well, and that as it is, it could not have passed smog. So i am speculating that the used car dealer cheated the system and sold it to me as smogged. What kind of options do i have here, legally? Can i make them pay for the new exhaust system? Does this make the car qualify as a lemon and entitle me to some sort of reimbursement or something of that sort? As a last option could i sue them in small claims court or something of that sort? I’m dissapointed with the price of the vehicle and especially with this problem, and oil leaks beginning to form most likely because of it, i am not too happy here. The truck was bought as-is, with a warranty from a seperate company. But like i said, it had to pass smog in order for them to sell it, i think i have the upper hand in this situation because of that. Your help is appreciated

A: All I know is California has the toughest air emissions laws. The car being sold as-is might be hard for u to have any recourse. You did say it had a warranty from another company.Check to see if that will cover all the costs. If not go back to the dealership with proof of the issues to see what they will do to resolve it.If nothing is done contact a lawyer or consumer rights to see if you have a case.

Q: What kind of business I can add to my Exiting Used Car dealer ship?
I have a small Used car dealer ship and it’s kind of slow. I have about 2 acres space , and I’m trying to get some ideas of new business I can get in addition to the car sales I thought already about getting UHAUL or pay bills (electric ,water, cable ) etc..
Any more ideas please .
Thanks a lot

A: Maybe a car detailing business. pay an hourly rate to an employee. they can detail your used cars, make them look new, and also service customers cars. Im thinking 50 to a 100 a car.

its all about quality

Q: I am looking for pictures of muscle cars to print…?
I am decorating a room in classic muscle car photos (Super Bee, GTX, Cougar XR7, etc.), but I don’t have any photos myself. Does anyone know where I can download some that are high quality (so I can enlarge them)? I tried Flickr, but am not able to download those. (I don’t mind to purchase them, but would prefer free.) Thanks!

A: Just a tip for you, even if you’re pics are not of very high quality there’s a new technology that enlarges pictures better:

http://www.imagiris.com

Hope that helps

Q: I want to buy a muscle car or a a 2008-2010, where can i find some?
Is there an internet site that i can view muscle cars or mustangs? I want to see pictures, prices, upgrades, and more… thanks.

A: stay away from muscle cars. i wanted a muscle car but then i realized. a new mustang accelerates better than a muscle car, turns better than a muscle car, has better sound system, more refined. there is really no benefit to a muscle car as i have learned. but, to answer your question, the best thing to do is go on autotrader.com and find a suitable car and then search the car on google and there will generally be specialized websites for that car and experts of that vehicle will be able to help you with what you need.

Q: I have pictures of different muscle cars. I think they are concept cards but im not sure.?
Can someone help me identify them so I can sell them? If you include an email address I will send a photo of one of the pictures.
Here is a link to one of the pictures on Photobucket.

http://s865.photobucket.com/albums/ab215/baptizo1403/Cars/?action=view&current=Picture010.jpg

A: Host your photos on photobucket so you can post links to them. Most people will not and should not post email addresses here.

Q: What is the year/make/model of the muscle car in the 2008 movie “Surveillance”?
The Movie:

Thanks!

A: looks like a 67 nova to me

Q: Does muscle Car Review magazine have a website?
I really wanted a picture of this 71 mustang mach 1 with a a 429 ram air. I think it was in the March 2010 magazine but it could have been the February 2010. does anyone know the site or where I can get a picture of it?

A: http://www.sourceinterlinkmedia.com/automotive/muscle_car_review/

Q: Help me identify this rare Ford muscle car.?
Just down the road there is a large ford 2-door muscle car. It’s white with burnt orange racing stripes. It has small vents on the side and says “GT” on the back but no other names or model numbers. It’s bigger than a mustang, but smaller than a Lincoln. Looks a little like a Charger fastback but it’s a FORD. Looks like maybe early to mid 70’s I’ve been racking my brains and looking all over the internet and I can’t find a picture of this car anywhere. What is it? What years was it produced. I guess I’ll just break down and ask.

A: Go to Google and check out these cars: 1969 – 1970 Ford Torino, Ford Torino Cobra or 1969 – 1970 Ford fairlane…Good luck.

Q: Whats the name of this car?(Picture)?
I know its some sort of muscle car but yah lol
Just wondering cause it caught my eye

http://www.pictures-of-cars.com/American-Muscle-Car.jpg

A: Chevy Camaro

Q: Question about a kind of car?
I’m planning on buying a car in a year or so. The kind of car I’m going for is one that’s sporty (or muscle car type) that has fast acceleration, powerful, wide, and low to the ground. Preferable nothing too expensive (like Ferrari).

Please give me some names of cars (and info on them), and links/pictures are welcome too!
anything 60 thousand or below.

A: Infiniti G35/37 (G37 is the new Model Year)
Chevrolet Corvette (Z06 will beat the snot out of the G35 and will keep up with porches and BMWs, for 1/2 the price too)
BMW M3 or M5 (M3 is a small car, M5 is 500HP V12, 4 seater i believe too)
Nissan 350Z Nizmo edition…

But those arent really muscle types.
These are
Vette
Mustang (Roush Edition, the normal ones are crap. Make sure you get the supercharged one)
Dodge Challenger (the new one, but there $$)

Thats bout it.

Q: what is your dream muscle car?
can be a luxury/other type if not muscle kind of person. i have dibs on a ‘67 ‘Vette Baby Blue w/ White racing stripe. Too many other details to name. pictures would be awesome

A: A ‘69 Ford Mustang Fastback…but the new 2007 Shelby Cobra GT 500 is my new favorite…but you can never beat the classics!

Q: need a web site with old muscle cars?
I need black and white pictures I will be traceing them on my sons wall I need at lease 3 I will then paint them in 1 red 1 orange and 1 yellow they will be on a brown backgroung with molding around them like pictuers then the wall will be country club green his bed set is tan and brown as are his curtians carpet is tan does that sound ok for a 15 year old he has a lot of old moldel cars on shelves also need a good idea for a custom head board for king size bed thought about maybe try useing a car hood

A: few ideas here that might help

http://boysthemebedrooms.com/cars/race-cars-boys-theme-decorating-ideas.html

Q: What classic muscle cars currently have revamped conceptual designs or have been recently released?
We have the Mustang, Camaro, Challenger, Barracuda, GTO & Firebird (can’t find any good pictures), Roadrunner, and the Charger as far as I know. Where can I find a list of all the remade models whether production or conceptual and where can I find some good pictures?

A: I can’t think i’ve ever seen a list of re-born muscle cars but your list is pretty complete. I don’t remember the Barracuda or the firebird being re-done. The screaming chicken is unlikely with Pontiac being on the chopping block.
There are a few un-notable honorable mentions you left out. The Chevy Nova (re-introduced as a sub-compact), the Monte Carlo SS, the Malibu, the Impala SS and the el Camino (SSR).
I heard that they were considering a rendering on the Buick Grand National but who knows.

Q: what kind of car is this?
http://www.pictures-of-cars.com/American-Muscle-Car.jpg

THANK YOU!!!!!

A: Chevy Camaro.

How hard was that?

Q: Take big old muscle cars and make them into hybrids?
I saw an article about Cheech or Chong getting a classic car converted to hybrid. But now I can’t find the picture.

A: that’s a great idea, sure they wouldn’t be very efficient at first but it’ll get better

Q: Why do teenage girls like to have their pictures taken infront of hot cars? +10 for answer?
Why do teenage girls like to get their pictures taken infront of mustangs and chargers and mercedes and beamers and really awesome sport, muscle and luxury cars? what is it about them? and why do they like to have their pictures taken like they’re driving them? thanks

A: I bet they are showing of the pics to guys. Guys like cars, therefore they do it for attention.

Q: what car was used in steven king’s “the dark half”?
it’s the black one… looks like an older muscle car, it looks remarkably close to the ‘Stallions’ in GTA III and SA (i have a hunch these were actually modeled after this car, which is why i want to know)

i can’t find anything about it online…. and i really don ‘t feel like looking up 300 diffrent pictures of cars to track it down… it’s not a traditional muscle car like a chevelle, mustang or camaro, although it does bare a similar body style to the 68 chevelles…

i’m pretty damn sure it’s not a chevy of any kind… as i’m a chevy man and would like to think i’d instantly reconize it as being so…. honestly it looks more like it came from oldsmobile or buick, i’m leaning towards olds…

A: Oldsmobile Toronado

Q: auto update my blog with full content with rss feed?
I have a blogger blog. Is it possible to auto update the blog with full content of the RSS feed. I have rss feeds in my blog. But it shows only the headlines. Help

A: It sounds like you want to display an RSS feed within your HTML website. The easiest/best way to do this is to use RSS2HTML a free PHP script. This means that you can retain the complete control of the HTML layout (using templates) and make it match your existing design. Additionally using PHP rather than JavaScript will mean that search engine spiders can “spider” the contents of the RSS feeds.

Additional details and a free rss2html download is available at: http://www.feedforall.com/more-php.htm

Additional information and other options for displaying RSS feeds can be found at: http://www.rss-specifications.com/displaying-rss-feeds.htm

Goodluck!

Q: How to change Wordpress MySQL database setup from auto to manual on Blog Colony?
I mistakenly chose the automatic setup option for the Wordpress MySQL database setup when I added a blog at Blog Colony. How will I change it to manual so I could use the MySQL database from my host? I tried editing the wp-config.php file, but the blog contents are not showing up so I restored the original wp-config.php file. Help urgently needed pls. Thanks!

A: right click on mouse while holding down shift with left hand, and with your big left toe, press delete while singing, “We’re coming to get you, sucka”

Q: Myspace blog tracker that auto subscribes?
I encountered a blog on myspace that when you clicked on it to read it, it automatically subscribed you to that person’s blog, without alerting you. Just wondering if anyone else has come across this and if so, do you know how it is done? Is it a coding or a tracking program?

A: They may have used a special code or link for that. For example, I can click on my blog and click Subscribe, and it will take me to a certain address. All I have to do is copy the subscribe url for that particular blog and put it into this link:

Hey guys! Read my blog here!

When people click that link, it will take them to the subscribe screen, thus automatically subscribing them to my blog as it is shown to them. Not sure if that’s how they did it to you, though.

Q: which is best program to get into? ez empire builder or auto blog blueprint.?
I’m interested in making money online and have to choose one of two programs. Which of these two is the best? Which has the best chance of making me successful as a blogger?

A: I have both Auto Blog Blueprint is more than just an auto blog system… Mike Johnson is incredibly helpful and will pretty much always answer your questions no matter how many times he has been asked the same question. He is also very nice.

But what I was saying is Auto Blog Blueprint also teaches you proper SEO and he gives you only the WordPress plug-ins that he has tested for several months with his own sites. It’s really an awesome product, the best I have every come across on the internet, and I’ve been doing internet marketing since 1998.

As for EZ Empire Builder, it is a system of automation, truly a plug-and-play system. You will spend most of your education time learning how to modify the templates, as templates are the footprint Google will find. So you have to make sure you modify them. But it is a great product and a WHOLE LOT Cheaper than the Word Press Mage system (I have that too). Mike Johnson talks about EZEmpire builder in his Auto Blog Blueprint course and recommends it as well.

I think there are also two other courses you haven’t thought of or at least mentioned that you should seriously consider: Mark Dulisse’s Internet Marketing Niche Formula II and Insiders HQ… I put links to both of them below (I believe Insiders HQ is now sold out).

No matter what tool(s) you decide to use, read this post on my blog: http://www.aweyeah.com/internet_marketing/best-guru-advice/ it will make sure you have the right mindset before you even start.

Q: Can people auto blog using questions and answers here? Legal?
I’ve stumbled upon several ‘affiliate’ and ‘commercial’ sites which publish questions and answers from Yahoo! Answers even without change any text, content, links, nicknames. They are doing this automatically. It’s like making a blog and publishing RSS feeds of another person’s blog. This way they don’t have to create their content. They are using our questions and answers. I’m trying to contribute my best here and I kinda dislike when I find my content (my questions and answers) and links on another site. Well, it’s actually not about my content but about the content of some contributors here, that I really appreciate the value they add in here.

My question is, is this legal? Should I contact the site owner or is it Yahoo’s business?

Auto blogging is very popular but come on. Isn’t it unfair to people who ask and answer within this community?

A: I can only assume it is legal if Yahoo allows the use of questions & answers else where. Since once resolved they become the property of Y/A. ( this is stated in the TOS) .*

Q: Myspace Layout: I bulleted sentences in the blog but it auto joins all as a single paragraph ?
what to do?

A: Use
between each line.
For example.

-Sentence
-Sentence
will look like
-Sentence
-Sentence

Q: Where I can get Free Auto Blog Script?
I’m looking a free script to make automatic blog creator on my website

A: Try a Blog CMS like Wordpress (Wordpress.org) or Textpattern (textpattern.com)

Q: How do you unlink a blog from your facebook?
I at one point had made it so my blog auto-posts to my facebook through notes, but now I can’t find the controls on either site to turn it off. I don’t remember how I did, it was quite a while ago. Can anyone tell me how to do so?

A: If it is an application withing facebook allowing you to update through blogs, follow this link http://www.facebook.com/topic.php?uid=35590940472&topic=5379#!/editapps.php?ref=mb and disable the site. If I knew what blog service you use I might be able to help you through that site

Q: How to let songs auto-play on my blog?
There’s sites which mention things about pasting HTML codes of the music to your site and such. How do I go about changing an mp3 to a code? Where do I upload the stuff? Any step by step instruction? Basically start from, choose an mp3 file from yr pc, followed by….

A: This will seem like a LOT of information for you to absorb to do this trick of music and blogs but actually once you have done this successfully one time.. it is a breeze after that.. so hang in there.. it will be worth your time I promise my friend.

You need a host file site to get the hot link ( direct url) from. I use fileden.com. You can get a free account with them to host your mp3 files.
1.Your music must be in the mp3 file format and must not be protected by copyright of any kind. If your song is protected by copyright.. fileden will not upload it and give you the links.

2.You upload the music to your computer and then upload to your fileden account.

3. Then click the drop down menu they have above the file listings and choose Generate IMG tags.

4.Then choose direct url from the choices given to you. Place this link into the slot on your blast and save it for music on your page that will start when the visitor clicks the click here option on your blast.

5. If you want to put an mp3 player into your blog with a html code .. this is the code you need.. take out the * where it says <---place url here---> delete that also and place the direct url from file den into the code.
make the size 300 x45 for a mp3 media player that will only show the player controls.
I pasted this blank code into my wordpad and saved it.. that way I only have to copy and paste it into the blog composer and make the necessary changes to it there.
If you wish to have a player that no one sees.. then make the size 0×0 and the background color the same as your blog background page color. It will play the song without anyone knowing where it comes from. * note.. only drawback with this written code for a media player is that only people with Internet Explorer for a browser will be able to see or hear it.

<embed src='*<---place url here--->*’ width=0 height=0
type=application/x-shockwave-flash allowScriptAccess=”none” bgcolor=”white”>

If this all seems really difficult to you let me make a suggestion please.. it will simplify this a great deal for you.

I recommend using a site like MyFlashFetish.com for the mp3 player you can place into your blogs. They have a free account and will provide you the music as well as the player and generate the html code for you.

After you have gotten the code from the site open up a blank composer and on top of the composer is a check box and the words HTML Source..
put some text into the composer and then put a check into the box of the HTML Source.
then paste the code into the composer.
uncheck the box. your mp3 player is there but you may not see it. Go to the bottom of the page and click preview to see your player and check if it is working .. then click edit.. finish your blog and post it.

Q: is auto blog system x a scam?

A: Its another scam to take your money. Stay away from it.

Q: wanna do a web / blog as an Auto enthusiast?
wanna do my own web / blog specialized in automobiles. What will be the copy right and other formalities if i use some vehicle reports, comments. Do i need any permission from concern parties.

A: Every resource you use will have copyrights and use conditions.
It’s a case by case study that you have to do as you find the information your looking to post on your site.

Wordpress.org is a great place to go and find answers to many questions you might have about blogging.

Q: Auto updating blog?
Has anyone ever had a self updating blog that gets it’s stories from free article databases on a certain niche and therefor draws traffic from search engines? Make any money? How long did it take? thank you.

A: see here:http://rds.yahoo.com/_ylt=A0oGkx743epGbsUAoTxXNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTE5bTkwYTlhBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMgRjb2xvA3NrMQR2dGlkA0Y5NDVfMTkwBGwDV1Mx/SIG=12bduvesu/EXP=1189883768/**http%3a//www.adultblogresource.com/rss2anywhere/help2.php

Q: Is a Twitter feed posted on my blog worth it?
I have a blog on fantasy football and I was thinking about adding a Twitter feed to and from the blog. So, on my blog I would have what was said on Twitter and then I would auto post the blog posts to Twitter as well. Do you think that I will see a lot more traffic if I do this? Is it really worth it?

A: I have been following this internet marketing guy named Matt Bacak (www.mattbacak.com) for the past couple of months, and he has talked a bit about social media and Twitter. This guy is a millionaire and he is only like 30 years old. (Sadly I am way past my 30’s and would love to be a millionaire).

I was very surprised when he said that if you are looking to make money from social media it may surprise you at how little you will actually make from things like promoting on Twitter. Everywhere you look, everybody is saying social media this, social media that.

Anyways, if you are looking for more traffic to your blog and not necessarily more money than yes, it probably will help increase traffic to have a Twitter feed. If you are looking to make more money off your blog, then you may want to stick to other marketing techniques instead.

Also, you have to look at this way, if you want the Twitter feed on your blog, how much time is it really going to take to install a plug-in and get started? Probably not that much time, but if you seem not to be able to keep up with your blog, promoting it, and Twitter as well, then my advice would be to drop Twitter. Hope this helps and good luck man!

Q: How do I add an RSS Feed to a Wordpress Blog?
Hey guys,

I need my wordpress blog to be auto updating so I found and RSS feed with the topic that I need.

But how do I make it so that it posts the news automatically on my blog?

Thanks,

A: If your wordpress blog is a self hosted one, you can have a look into wp-o-matic plugin. Do a little search on google and you will sure find it.
If you have your blog hosted on wordpress.com you have no options for that.

Q: WooThemes – Excerpt for posts and auto image post for blog relating to article. wordpress.?
My theme is PremiumNews for Wordpress.
How to put excerpt for posts at the homepage.
How to Grab and post images automatically relating to the blog topic to the display square?
Thanks.
WooThemes – wordpress
How to Grab and post images automatically relating to the blog topic?
http://onebheja.com
Thanks.

A: Hi – First, can you give the link to your blog?

I use Woo Themes news themes (a few different ones). As for excerpts, you can manage this on your Write > Post tab. Directly under the big area where your post goes is a little area for you to put the excerpt. The theme will automatically use an excerpt if it is there. If it’s not there, it will create an excerpt for you if you use the More tag.

For images, check out the documentation. Here’s the part about images:

   1. On your Write > Post tab, complete all of the standard fields when adding a new post.
2. Now scroll down to the NewsPress Custom Settings panel and “Browse” for the image you desire to use for the thumbnail or featured image. Once you click “Save” you are done. The image resizer script takes care of resizing the image to the correct size.

I linked to the How-to page for this theme. It is very straightforward but please let me know if you need further explanation.

Cheers,
Tia

Q: What are some good websites with car reviews?
Looking on buying a pre-owned car and need to research reviews on some options. Any helpful websites would be appreciated.

A: NADA.com

It’s good to find reviews, value, actual cash value based on your area and types of retail prices the vehicle is going for.

Q: Where are the Japanese car reviews in this segment?
After reading these reviews, it seems that all of these domestic cars were given a good rap. I mean talk about being biased. How about the test drive numbers? Safety and impact ratings? Will dashboard panels and exterior panels typically fall off after two years with these cars? Will a majority of these domestic cars end up in mechanic shops periodically around the nation like always. Shops such as Meineke between 8,000 – 15,000 miles at the end of this year? Things like that. The designs and performance are one thing, but how about reliability. I most definately will not receive a response back about this. However if so, I would definately want a side by side comparison with numbers and an unbiased review to be included with the response. Thanks so much.

A: Most American cars aren’t that American to begin with, so buy what you want, it’s your money.

If you are seeking for the “best car” on the market, buy a bicycle.

There is no best car on the market because the market has millions of consumers, all of which have their own idea, preference, or opinion of the “best car”. Last time I checked, there were not millions of auto manufacturers out there.

As far as reliability, repairs etc. Foreign cars cost more to repair. A Chevy in Germany costs more to repair and maintain than a Volkswagon, just like the same Volkswagon here in the US costs more to repair or maintain than the Chevy.

The more exotic it is, the more it costs and costs to repair or maintain. No matter who made it or where it came from.
Most of the automakers share a lot of components anyways, so it is becoming all the same.

From your question, it sounds like you have blinders on. Do you want the domestic cars to be given a “bad rap”?

For years, “foreign cars” in the US were said to be of better quality and engineering than US cars. It may have been true to some degree, but the US auto industry has improved a lot over the years in order to stay in the game. Even going as far as using foreign parts in domestic vehicles. You would be amazed at who is swapping parts with who.

So ultimately it is all the same. Buy what you like or want, and enjoy it. If you buy something you don’t like, get something else. In a few years you may even be able to buy a car “Made In China”.

Q: I need to find consumer car reviews?
I would like to find reviews from actual drivers of hybrids and bio-diesel cars. Where can I go on the internet to do this?

A: www.edmunds.com and then look up the consumer reviews of the individual cars/trucks for which you want to research this information.

Q: What websites can I get good car reviews on?
I am looking for websites to see long in depth reviews of scion tcs. Preferably ones I can watch on my iPod. Thank you.

A: go to edmunds.com they give their reviews along with owners reviews, log on and click new cars and if looking for a car clcik on sedan and they all come up in alphabetical order, scroll down till you find scions and click on that and will give you all the info you want.

Q: If i were to star a website with car reviews what would you like to know?
if i stated a website doing car reviews and i test drove a car what would you want to know about that car what does the buy (you) want to know about the car?

A: I think something that alot of review sites lack, is the ability to accuratly determine a car’s reliability. I mean, it’s a new car. how do we know the reliability? We don’t. At best, the tester can venture a guess based on what they think of the brand and the feel of the car, but lets be honnest, every car feels good when it’s new. I would say perhaps you could tap into the used car market and review cars that are 5 years old? you would be able to list the problems, people could write with known issues. From there you could draw parallels to any new brands. Likewise, when you test new cars you could test one again in 5 years, and perhaps again at 7 or 10 when repairs start to become an issue. Perhaps have members to log or report on their cars at yearly intervals? Just some ideas, the only way to get a true idea of how cars hold up is to test over time. This information would give good evidence to where the specific car might stand for the new brands. and it would also be useful for those in the used car market (which is HUGE! but doesn’t really have a review site…hmm…) Just think how many people on Yahoo answers alone ask “is this a good first car” or “should i get this car” almost always, they are used.

Q: Best place to find reliable car reviews?
I’m not buying soon, but I want to be informed when I do buy. So where are some of the best reliable sources for car research? There seems to be a lot of crap on the internet so I find it hard to rely on, but I know there must be some good places out there.

A: Edmunds.com cars.com autotrader.com
some of these websites offer links as well as there own reviews for New and Used Autos.
Also, if you are wanting to find some general info on values,
edmunds.com, nada.com, and kbb.com are excellent guides to finding a vehicles value.
Remember, they are only guides not “Definite Value’s”
Mileage, Condition, model and Market value determine the cars “Actual Value”.
Hope this helps

Q: Is there a website for car reviews?
I’m trying to pick which car to get next and I’m wondering if there is such thing as a website I can go to where experts AND actual car owners can rate and review cars?

A: There sure are! A decent website that has both user and professional reviews is MSN Autos:

Q: Anyone know of the best place for car stereo reviews online?
am looking for a car stereo that works with ipod…. know there are lots around (alpine/panasonic/kenwood etc) but could do with a review website?

A: Which is where I tend to look for reviews

Q: Please give me some quotes about Lexus from car reviews?
I’m looking for some really good quotes about Lexus from some car reviewers over the years.

A: Here are a few select quotes from various reviewers.

“The driver’s seat should be singled out for praise too. It’s like sitting on a sumo wrestler. Couple that to the gearbox, which changes so smoothly you cannot feel the shifts, and you have a car that can be compared to the Rolls-Royce Phantom.” – Jeremy Clarkson, reviewing the LS460 L.

“People keep saying Lexii are bland. Truth is, they’re new and not flawed. The LS600h may be boring to drive, but it’s very cool.” -Top gear website, unknown author.

“Not only is this car more refined than a Rolls Royce, it’s also one of the best specified cars in the world” – Quentin Wilson, reviewing the 1997 LS400.

“If there is such a thing as better than the LS460, the LS600h is it. Not built but hewn. Not made but forged. If all cars were built this well, the car business would cease to exist because no-one would ever need a new car” – Top Gear website, unknown author.

“Judged purely as an adrenaline-inducing performance tool, the Lexus tops a number of supercars I’ve driven — not just the similiarly priced Lamborghini Murciélago, but also the $1.3 million Bugatti Veyron.” – Lawrence Ulrick, New York Times review of the LFA.

Q: Which automotive websites should I refer to for the most objective and reliable car reviews?

A: READ REVIEWS FOR EVERYONE YOU CAN GET YOUR HANDS ON– EVERYONE NO MATTER WHAT HAVE SOME BIASES. CONSUMER REPORTS WILL GIVE YOU THE REAL NUTS AND BOLT BUT THEY LACK PASSION TOWARDS THERE REVIEWS OF THE CARS. READ EVERYTHING YOU CAN AND COME TO A CONSENSUS OF ALL THAT YOU HAVE READE.

Q: Car reviews about reliability and etc similar to Consumer Guide?
I need somthing similar to that dont tell me a website like edmunds or kbb as they arent what i am looking for

A: Consumer reports is the best. Nothing else compares.

Q: Reading reviews on edmunds.com- many good, some bad, how to choose which car?
I’m looking up reviews on cars and some have great reviews with some bad ones. How do you really know when buying a used car you won’t get stuck with a piece of crap? Any advice?

A: have it checked out by a mechanic before you buy

Q: what is the best website for car reviews?
im getting a car and im using a bunch of websites for research but how do i know which website is the best website to use?

A: Consumer Report

Q: Used car reviews:: good gas mileage, reliable, cheap parts?
I’m looking for some online comparisons/reviews of used small cars. I’m thinking Honda Civic or Accord, Toyota Camry, etc., but what else is out there that I might be interested in? Gas mileage is my main focus.

A: These are great cars. You may also consider the Saturn S series – if you want a car a few years old. Saturn makes a good car. Nissan does too — Altima, Maxima, etc. I don’t think you can beat a Civic or Corolla on fuel economy & reliability. Both are tops in this category.

Q: Good free website for car reviews?
I need a free website with car reviews, that lets you choose make and model.

A: kelly blue book
www.kbb.com
