Q: Super cars?
Why do cars like Ferrari 430 and others got there engines in the back instead of in the hood?
A: They build these cars with the engines in the rear for better handling and balance. 50% over the rear wheels and 50% over the front wheels. This is the ideal weight balance, to make the car handle great. Hope this helps.
Q: What is the best magazine for Super Cars?
I want to get a magazine subscription about super cars.
What do you think is the best magazine that is about cars like Lamborghini, Ferrari, Pagani, etc.?
I haven’t been able to find anything.
Thanks ahead of time!
A: Definitely Top Gear mag but they are rare to find in the US unless you subscribe.
Q: What is the difference between super cars, sports cars and muscle cars?
Why is it that Top Gear considers the Audi R8 as a super car? Is it a super car? I think it is a sports car, a Porsche 911 rival. And please tell me your favorite cars.
A: You can’t take a super car grocery shopping. It’s inconvenient, hard to live with and generally cannot be used for every day driving. Eg Lamborghini Diablo
A sports car is any general road use car that is faster than the average family car. A sports car can be almost anything on the road, WRX, Honda Civic etc
A muscle car is any american tank with a V8 or more. The Mustang is a good example.
My fav car? The Evo 6.5 Tommi Makinen Limited Edition
Q: What do YOU think is the best car of all time? (No super cars, only cars under £30,000)?
What do YOU think is the best car of all time? (No super cars, only cars under £30,000)
Please dont start saying stupid things, say cars that you might be able to afford as a family man on the 9-5 not a 15yr old who thinks he’s damon hill with a tenner that’ll buy him anything in the world!
Thanks
A: Of ALL time? That’d be the DeLorean
Q: Why are some super cars not that reliable?
1.I have heard that brand such as a Ferrari and a Lamborghini have reliability issues, why is that so?
For a car that cost as much as a house,I would think reliability would correlate with a higher price.
Logic tell us the higher the price, the higher the quality.
2.What super car do have good reliability?
A: People buy Ferraris and Lamborghinis for performance not reliability. Get a Toyota pickup truck if you want a vehicle that won’t die. The reason that these cars may run into problems is that the engine is complicated and working like crazy causing high heat and torque. They are reliable if you put work into it and keep up on maintenance. Racers are constantly rebuilding their cars and motorcycles. If you are not ready for that, you are not ready for the car
Q: Are Carroll Shelby automobiles, and Shelby Super Cars related in any way?
They both share the same name, but they produce different cars. Do they have any relations?
More info: Shelby Super Cars is famous for producing the ultimate aero, now the world’s fastest production car. Shelby automobiles is famous foe the cobra and GT500 mustangs.
A: No they are not. Carrol Shelby has nothing to do with SSC. The only thing they have in common is that the heads of both companies happen to have the the last name of Shelby.

Q: How advanced ins the technology in the Japanese Super GT race cars?
A question for motorsport enthusiasts.. How advanced ins the technology in the Japanese Super GT race cars, and how does it compare with the technology used in other race cars such as Formula 1, Nascar and Indy cars?
How much does a SUPER GT car cost?
A: i’m no expert, but i’m a fan of the rally races
super gt is mostly in the mid range rally class, varying from street/sport car bodies with high performance race equipment/engine/parts to completely scratch built prototype cars that are all but one step away from Formula 1 (the only differences being restrictions, open wheels, etc.)
parts value for a lower class rally car around 700-800 horses might be between $200k to $500k. cars with higher horsepower (800-900) can cost anywhere between $500k to $750k. and prototype cars have values from 1,000,000 to 2,000,000 in parts and production. note that their sponsors fund the entire thing, so the parts probably didn’t cost that much, but if another team wanted to buy a car (ie: team BMW wanted to buy Bob Wollek’s car & contract, than they would probably have to pay 3/4 million dollars)
i hope this has helped
Q: How much does insurance cost on super cars??
How much does insurance cost on cars like Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Bugatti, etc.
A: SUPER BUCKS.
some vehicles you can’t insure.can only get liability.
Q: Why do people buy super expensive cars?
Why do people buy super expensive cars and then say that they didn’t buy them for status symbols? If an over priced car is not a status symbol, then what is it? I am sick and tired of these arrogant people driving around in their expensive cars and claiming they didn’t buy them for status.
A: Sounds like somebody is jealous. I do it, because I can. It must suck to be you.
Q: Why do some people in super cars go blazing down the highway?
I have driven sports cars and I drive other peoples cars for my shop and own two cars myself and never get that carried away.
A: For the same reason they chose the super car.
Q: Racing carrer involving stock super cars?
I’m looking for a career in racing stock super cars on tracks. Maybe just for times. Or against others. I know about cars and how to drive them but I do not want a job fixing them. And nothing like Nascar or Formula 1. Please.
A: Many people today start racing stock cars in a typical 4 cylinder street car. The higher classes like super stock and late models come after you prove yourself to be a top driver with years of experience. You would have to be incredible for someone to want to give you the keys to their car. Most local tracks have a beginner class of 4 cylinders where the cars have limited safety modifications like taking out the windows and a roll cage. Some drivers will want to sell a completed car which usually don’t cost real much. You can expect to have to repair the car at some point because racing is a contact sport. Maybe you have friends who can help you out?
Q: Should super cars be speed-limited for the sake of the environment?
there is legislation going through Europe at the moment that would limit all cars to 101 MPH.
If passed, it due to be law in 4 years time.
Thier reasoning being that high powered cars cause too much damage to the environment.
i agree they put out lots of CO2, but is it really significant compared to the millions of chav-tastic easyjet holidays in spain, or the M25 car park every day ?
Are supercar owners just being picked on because they are rich, or do you think reducing thier cars to 101 MPH would really improve the environment significantly ?
Remember, the majority of these cars are not used for communting. I wonder if the anual CO2 from an M25 rep-mobile is actually higher because of the milage covered.
“cath in Scotland” your answer is so funny.
What about my question leads you to beleive i agree with the propsed legislation, eh ?
I retract my comment to Cath above.
We’ve had a chat and both agree
A: Most cars are capable of over 100mph anyway. However, a non-exhaustive list of reasons why it will never happen are:
Ford (Jaguar, Range Rover, plus a large stake in Aston Martin)
VAG (VW, Audi, Seat, Skoda, Bentley, Lamborghini)
FIAT (Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Ferrari, Maserati)
Porsche (plus a controlling stake in VAG)
BMW (and Rolls Royce)
Mercedes Benz
Each of these companies has invested billions in developing their cars and their engines and have also changed their designs to comply with safety legislation, adding extra weight (which necessitates extra horsepower) necessary to comply with this legislation whilst simultaneously making their engines more efficient. Look at MPG figures twenty years ago to now. Plus they make cars with a longer lifespans and more recyclable parts. They generate billions of pounds in tax and directly and indirectly employ tens of thousands of people. If the EU do force this through then they may find that these manufacturers commit significantly less of their R&D budgets to green technology development.
Finally, I do not envy the Italian and German MEP’s who would effectively end Porsche’s and Ferrari’s raison d’etre going back to their home countries.
I’m not taking sides but frankly it ain’t gonna happen.
Q: In Top gear, during their frequent long distance races with super cars, how do the camera trucks keep up?
Take the race from London to Oslo, Jeremy takes his fast car at rapid speed (in germany 160 mph) and yet they always passed the camera truck.
Either they had multiple trucks at sequential places on the journey, or the entire thing was staged.
A: they have the shots set up at strategic locations. they will probably have the cars slow down so the trucks can go ahead, and then take the shot, or possibly have several camera trucks along the route ready to take the shot.
Q: Where can I find information/pictures on the latest lightweight super cars?
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
That site is awesome! Cheers Mike T!
